Handmade sgian dubh is a blend of Scotland and North Carolina USA. Created from 440B stainless steel & fitted with clear blue resin festuring Gumball seed pods (sourced from NC) and Scotish Sweet Cherry bolster (sourced from Easter road in Edinburgh)
Along with scaling holed drilled along the blade, I have also hand filed a textured decorative filework pattern on the spine
Nothing quite adds a bit of subtle flair than a hand made sgian dubh. Be the envy of your friends with this piece as you address the haggis at the next Burns Night and tell the tales of how this sgian dubh came to be!
Alternatively this would make for a perfect gift for a cherished friend or for a 21st birthday!
This is definately more contemporary but being able to see the structure of the Gumballs as well as the tang of the blade, you may find yurself lost in imagination just by looking at the handle!
No piece would be complete without a made to measure, hand stitched leather sheath – this one is a lovely shade of green
